Our firm’s client, while riding his bicycle, was struck by a motor vehicle driver, resulting in serious injuries, including a fractured coccyx.
Following the accident, he was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department, where X-rays and a series of MRI scans were conducted. He was diagnosed with a fractured coccyx, a torn medial meniscus, and multiple soft tissue injuries to his spine and limbs. A coccygeal injury is particularly painful, significantly affecting daily life, driving, and the ability to sit on hard surfaces. For a cyclist especially, such an injury often makes physical activity impossible until the pain subsides.
Once our client’s condition stabilized and the possibility of surgical intervention was ruled out, all necessary documentation was gathered, and a formal claim was submitted against the at-fault driver’s insurance company.
Through out-of-court negotiations, compensation in the amount of €21,000 was agreed upon as reasonable damages for the pain and suffering endured by our client.
